Hilton Garden Inn Amarillo

"Hilton hotels are supposed to be top of the line. This one is far from it and more like ok. The smoke detector in our room was off the wall and dismantled on the table, which seemed odd. The bed was hard, and the bathroom was ok. It felt more like a budget inn instead of a Hilton. I'm disappointed for sure. The young lady behind the counter was great, and the lady that made our reservation was great as well. The facility is just lacking in my opinion."

"We will skip this hotel next time. The staff is lovely and professional. The room is updated, but the bed is uncomfortable. Dinner was ok, but for the price we could have walked to Red Robin and had much better food. The breakfast buffet should be skipped. (The gravy was actively bland.) For less money, you’ll get better breakfast from McDonald’s."

"These people are rude and incompetent. Called two days before I’d be there, the lady who answered was unprofessional. Said “hello” when answering and didn’t mention the name of the hotel. She hung up on me twice. Finally got a price and confirmation number out of her. When I get here, the lady at the desk says my name is in the system but nothing else and the price is higher than what was said over the phone. She says “once the reservation is made we can’t change the price” I argued that the lady who took the reservation didn’t seem to know what she was doing. The lady at the desk didn’t care. I told her I’d make a complaint with corporate. She said “we’re franchised but thanks”. This location should have its franchise pulled. As I don’t have much other choice I paid the rate. I get to the room and all fixtures are dated and yellow. Everything is covered in dust. The bed feels like it’s a bargain barrel. Makes spring noises. The ac is very loud and the walls are paper thin. 0/10 would not recommend."

"Honestly I was expecting more from this hotel based on the name. The room was clean & spacious. However the bathroom design is frustrating! The towels are stored on a rack inside the shower, towards the back of the shower at the ceiling. This makes it difficult to get a towel if you are short, also the steam from a shower gets the other towels wet. All in all it's a terrible design. I also experienced a difficult time turning the shower off, it took 30 minutes of trying to turn the water off for it to actually stay off. (Yes I've used a shower before, this shower handle was simple broken, and I did notify the front desk). The breakfast was ok, the cook to order eggs definitely were the best part. All the team members were nice & friendly."

"The fit and finish of this room reminds me of motel 6. the drawers wouldn't open because someone mounted the iron in front of the drawers. the shower didn't have a handle on the inside of the door and the shower had mold growing in it. the other really strange thing was the towel rack was mounted in the shower so artwork could be mounted above the toilet. I was in a hurry so I went with a name that I thought was synonymous with quality and cleanliness."
