Bob Shelton Stadium, located at 4800 Jack C Hays Trail in Buda, Texas, is the central varsity competition stadium for Hays CISD. Named after the legendary football coach Bob Shelton, who coached in the district for 47 years, the stadium seats 8,600 people and features an artificial field turf. The facility includes a track with seven lanes, jump pits, a high jump area, and a pole vaulting area. Press box accommodations are available on both the home and visitor sides, with television and radio booths.
All Hays CISD students receive free entry to athletic events with their student IDs, and elementary students accompanied by a parent can enter for free with a paid parent ticket or pass. Remote parking and shuttle service to the stadium is no longer available as of the 2019 season.
Coach Bob Shelton, the namesake of the stadium, is a legendary figure in Texas high school football. He led Hays High School to a state championship game in 1996 and has received numerous awards for his coaching achievements. "The stadium was nice! The so so stars are for the experience I had with the personnel. There is nothing posted about having to have a clear bag, so we walked all the way from the overflow parking to have them tell we can’t bring our bags in. I purchased tickets to a game as a first time home team guest and had no idea where to sit since some seats are season ticket assigned. If you smoke, as my friend does, they won’t let you leave and come back because it’s no re-entry."
