"Consumer beware! I am self employed and this was the "best" insurance I could find in the marketplace. I could not find doctors that took the insurance anywhere near me. My bills were so high even after the insurance paid their portion. My husband was finally able to add me to his insurance through his work and I was so excited to cancel this policy. When I called to cancel I was told that they would need a 30 day cancellation notice and even though I had called to cancel it, they took two more payments out of my account during this time. I called and tried to get at least one refunded since I had called to cancel it but they would not refund either payment. You can do better than Clearwater."

"Unfortunately you can’t leave 0 stars as a review. We signed up for my husband and child (when he was born last year). We quickly found this type of ‘insurance’ help is not liked by doctors. No doctor was willing to work with it… so we had to manually submit all the paperwork for claims ourselves. (Not ideal.. but okay fine we’ll manage it) The first claim I submitted for my son went fine and we got our reimbursement for his well visit. The second claim I got push back from the claims department as I wasn’t supposed to be emailing these claims in (even though I was told it was proper procedure) they gave me a PO Box to send them to. I never saw a dime again after that claim was processed. Fast forward to year end. The plan should have expired on Dec 31st. As per their websites policies on the FAQs page, it states all policies are effective for one year. Well come Jan 23rd I have a charge for the plan again. Apparently they sent an email.. that neither my husband or I remember opening. I call to get them to correct their error and get met with push back from a Connie Piasta. She won’t reimburse us because they sent an email… even though their own website states a different policy. I ask to speak to a higher authority because she tells me it’s out of her hands… she submitted the claim to reimburse and it was denied. The higher authority is Adriana A (she won’t give her last name like a true professional). When speaking with Adriana she combatively told us that regardless of their policies stated on their website… they sent an email that they decided to automatically renew our plan without consent. So she wouldn’t do anything to reimburse. I have submitted a claim with my CC company and a block of them as a charge from my card. This company is honestly the largest waste of money I’ve ever experienced. The customer service at every level is absolutely terrible. Nobody has any idea internally what’s going on or what department handles or manages what. I’m actually mad I can’t give a zero star review. Beware if you are signing up with these people, it’s a waste of money."

"*** Update- Since posting my initial review, I got a call from Clearwater the day after, that my claims had been processed. This is indeed true. I spoke with someone for 45 minutes to better understand my benefits and we went through every claim. She was very helpful. I still don't know why it took so long, but it was a relief that the claims were paid and my concerns were immediately tended to. Now I have to decide if I will stay during open enrollment.*** I have been waiting for Clearwater to pay on my claims since July 20th!!! TODAY IS 11/9. I pay over $500/mo for single coverage and was told by the woman I spoke to that everything would be paid for except my co pay. She also kept pushing for me to see other doctors that this company obviously have agreements with. I don't think she was honest to me about when they received claims from my provider. My visits were in July and my provider let me know the claims were sent to Clearwater days after my appts. And my provider hasn't received any correspondence since. SAME WITH MY DENTAL WHICH WAS ALSO IN JULY. Clearwater told me they did not receive the claims until 10/4."

"I really did not want to write this review, but I have no other option because I am so desperate to be heard. I've had a maternity needs request open since January 2023, it's now December 2023. I've had to spend HOURS calling in, tracking paperwork, following up, and advocating for myself. It's been a nightmare and so stressful for me. I now pay over $600/month for my newborn and myself. She is 3 months old and I have not been reimbursed for her labor + delivery. I am a new mom and not working right now so the $6,000 reimbursement they are neglecting to send me is a financial hardship. I had a home birth which is significantly cheaper than a hospital birth and is covered under their maternity needs. If it's covered, WHY am I fighting for my reimbursement? I am starting to think this comapny is a scam like others have posted. **IF THEY WILL REIMBURSE ME, I AM WILLING TO UPDATE MY REVIEW TO SOMETHING MORE POSITIVE** Again, I don't want to be this person continuing to fight, but I have no other option."

"I was really disappointed with my experience. I never write bad reviews but I felt it was necessary. After speaking with a representative who signed me up a few months ago and going over the type of coverage I needed, he recommended a specific plan. I was happy to be saving money on my monthly premiums compared to what I paid previously. However, I was shocked to find out that my claims were denied. I purposely changed doctors to accommodate my new plan. When I let them know that this plan was not covering anything, they offered a different plan but could not promise that I would be allowed in this new plan. After not hearing anything back for over a week, I switched plans and told them to cancel this one. They said they would deny my cancellation. I called my credit card company and told them not to allow any payments to Clearwater. I am now stuck with $1000 in medical bills and do not see a point in remaining with a company that does not meet my needs, responds to my emails, and then not let me cancel."
