"I was told this famous quote "If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is". This quote fits the dilemma right here. I received a flier on Saturday from Graymark Insurance. It stated "Estimated" annual premium of $1,384.12 for the exact coverage stated on the flier. I understand the word estimated. Its a ball park number but not an exact price. With that stated price, Im not going to hold anyone to it, but to be fair, I should be within a hundred or two. So on Sunday, I scanned the barcode on the front and it took me to the website to add your name, address and what coverages that you are requiring. So I did. Exactly what was quoted to me on the flier. After completing it, it stated we will be in touch with a quote. Well i got an email from the sales manager from GI on Tuesday morning with twice the figure ($2605) of the "Estimated" quote that I had on paper. So i called the sales manager and asked how can the prices have doubled. It was stated that the mailer that I got was estimated three or four months ago and prices have changed since then. Plus we had 8 or 9 insurance companies to review from then and now down to 3 or 4. After the polite conversation, I stated that the current policy I have still comes in cheaper and thanked the sales manager for the time. My problem is this, false advertisement. I understand prices flex but I just dont see that much. Granted this misleading of information is the problem with insurance companies. If I cant trust you with a upfront quote from the very beginning, then how can i trust you during the policy. Its not Graymark's fault, its just the industry that they work in and Im going to call you out. The sales manager was again extremely polite and I bet the other employees are as well but the game (hook, line and catch) is the problem. Now on to the next flier who quote more insurance for cheaper prices!"
