"Araceli is talented but rushes through services. I understand as somebody that has a commission based job but if you’re going so fast that you’re leaving straight hair choppy or bleed marks in someone’s money piece while doing highlights it’s time to slow down. I also know two other people who had the same type of experience. Also I was charged for long hair after a short haircut (above my shoulders). I’m giving two stars because the talent is there but she just needs to slow down and have integrity in her pricing"

"I got my hair bleached here yesterday. I had made an appointment and was the first customer there. My hair is very short and had a lot of new very dark hair growth. My ends had an awful brassy color from box dye I used in December. I told her I wanted blonde all over. She said she could do highlights if I wanted. I did appreciate she did not try to sell me on having to do color remover nor coming back for another color session. The price was $130 for either service (she mentioned because she was going to use a lot of product on me, a personal pet peeve of mine from hairstylists)! I chose the fastest way, which was bleaching all my hair at once. She mixed her product and very quickly and aggressively slathered it on my hair with a brush. People started dropping in for hair cuts and she tended to them while I waited for the bleach to lighten. It did lighten but to an expected awful orange color. She rinsed it and towel-dried my hair. She told me she would have to put a stronger peroxide in my hair to cancel out the orange but she did tell me it would sting. I didn't want orange hair so I told her to put it on. She said the longest I could keep it on, the better. They say beauty is pain but this was unbearable. It immediately burned my scalp when she put it on! I tried to bear it but the burning was relentless. After 20 minutes, I had to tell her to wash it off! She washed, dried, and flat-ironed my hair. I was not happy with the results. The orange was now yellow! Maybe if I would have left the peroxide in my hair longer...but I can't help to think that she could have offered to wash my hair with a blue shampoo or even apply a toner again with some purple in it. She did offer to sell me a set of Matrix blue shampoo & conditioner which was on sale for $40. But after the unexpected $130, I just didn't have any money left. On the bright side, whatever products she used to bleach my hair and wash it, actually did NOT fry my hair. She was fast, friendly, but very expensive (I know hair dye services are pricey, but the length of my hair didn't justify the amount of product she used)and unfortunately she did not use the correct toner so I will never come back here again"

"I have been going to Shelly for 8 years. She is fast, friendly, and offers a great price for a hair cut. She is one of the hardest working people I have ever seen. If you want an awesome haircut from a great hairstylist than Shelly's is the obvious answer."
