"Overall, I have not had a good experience here at Smile Orthodontics. I initially came based on the referral of my dentist for Invisalign. The staff was very nice and I agreed to a treatment plan - a very expensive one, it turns out. I spoke to a colleague of mine who has a daughter on Invisalign and she paid half of what I did. I’m still paying off my treatment after two years. The hygienists are all nice, but they’re used to working with children, which in my opinion, has led them to treat adults in a similar manner. I’m never told what they’re about to do to me in the chair, and as someone with anxiety, this is not ideal for me. Now, I don’t claim to know more than medical or dental professionals; however, the main orthodontist proposed a more “extreme” treatment plan to fix my bite, involving more than just Invisalign and rubber bands. Originally, she wanted to install “little screws” in my gums to help with the bite and sent me to an oral surgeon to be evaluated. He completely disagreed with the plan so instead I was put on just the Invisalign and the bands, meant to be worn 22 hours a day. Now, I’ve completed my Invisalign and during my last visit I was told I’d get a retainer. They removed the grips installed on my teeth for the Invisalign and told me to wear my retainer once it arrived for 6 months consistently and then only at night. Today, I’ve picked up my retainers and was told 4 months of consistent use. The cherry on top was that I went to put in my retainer and noticed some resistance - I bit down and heard a crack. Turns out the hooks attached to my molars for the rubber bands impede the fit of the retainer - I spit out one of the hooks. I walked back in and asked them to immediately remove the other hook. Robin, the hygienist who saw me, was lovely and patient - a novel experience based on the other interactions I’ve had with other hygienists. She did confirm these hooks should’ve been taken out during my last appointment, and that’s concerning to me as a patient. I had the orthodontist and a hygienist both looking into my mouth and they failed to do this. After this entire ordeal, I hope this is my last appointment with this office. I do not recommend seeking treatment for Invisalign with their team due to radical costs and inconsistent and uncommunicative behavior from staff."

"Dr. Goldenberg is wonderful! The pricing is fair and the level of service and care is excellent. We are almost done with the orthodontist but I am very glad that we selected Dr. Goldenberg’s office. I highly recommend her!"
