"I’m not expecting fantastic customer service whatsoever every time that I walk into a store, but Jesus Christ, this had to be one of the most ridiculous experiences I’ve ever had. I walk into the store (with my mother) with the intention of buying the shoes that caught my eye a few weeks ago when doing Christmas shopping, as I walk through the store into the back area where the shoe was displayed I look around to see if there was an employee, to my surprise it was the guy I passed up who was leaning on a table and talking on the phone (via AirPods). In my head I’m thinking “is this guy for real right now?”, I didn’t get a “welcome in” or even a “hello”, thus I had no idea he was an employee. I brush it off, next thing I know my mother had taken the shoe to him and asks if he has other sizes, the guy literally said “oh well you have to tell me” with a slight attitude and frown. I kid you not that started to make my blood boil. Once again, I’m trying to keep it as cool as possible because I’m not the kind to cause a scene. The guy sluggishly goes to the back to get the other size. I’m literally ready to just pay and leave once I try the shoe on. He comes back, hands me one shoe out of the box, as I’m putting the shoe on (both hands occupied) “he says here you go” and throws the other shoe on the couch which we were right next to. I’m dead serious, he doesn’t place it on the couch, he just throws it from where he’s standing… boy if I didn’t have manners I would’ve slapped him silly. I bit my tongue, paid and left as I was on the verge of going off on him. Oh and he stayed on the phone the whole time. How are you supposed to be taken serious by anybody let alone an employer when you’re slouched over like you have scoliosis on the phone, while on the job? How are you going to tell any customer “oh well you have to tell me” when it’s YOUR job to approach customers and ask if they need help, not to be on the phone (oh and trust me, it was a personal call). The guy must have a very low IQ to not understand basics of retail. Oh yea, the employee’s name according to the receipt is James (308117), date & time purchased was 1/4/24 4:11 PM, don’t believe me? Look it up. I hope the manager, corporate, or someone who works for Cole Haan can look up the video footage, it was appalling, simply awful customer experience. Dude needs to be working at the DMV with his kind having that kind of service."

"I have been buying Cole Haan shoes for years. Love them. This store gives me access to the latest styles, and I like to go there 2-3 times a year. The staff always greet me with a smile, unless there are so busy with other customers. They are helpful and attentive. The store is small but clean and gives you a sense of tranquility. Compared to the one in Manhattan. There, it’s like a mad house."
