"This place is the best! The absolute best. Small town courtesy combined with Big Town efficiency. I took Amtrak in to Alpine and leased a Ford Taurus to travel the Big Bend area - Alpine Auto Rental met me at the train station with my car, brought and explained the paperwork and sent me on my way within 10 minutes. And get this...when I drop the car off - they said drop it off at the station and get on your train. My only wish is that they had some pick up trucks. Because of these guys, I'm coming back to Alpine! And I'm coming back soon! Do what I did - take a train in, rent a car from these guys - go see the Marfa Lights, the MacDonald Observatory and this charming little town of Alpine - its Americana mated with Texas character - West Texas that is."
"We were slightly apprehensive using Alpine Auto Rental as they have limited/no online or email presence - but I can safely say after returning from a week in Big Bend that we'd highly recommend them if you can work with the old-school nuance of using the phone to communicate with them! They were flexible and accommodating, meeting us off the Amtrak directly at Alpine station (on a Sunday) to sign paperwork and hand over the car. They were also very happy with us returning the car to the station on the evening of our return train. Thankfully we were lucky enough to have no severe delays to the train, but if we had - they assured us they would have happily worked with this. We rented a Crossover SUV and this was a 2019 Chevy Equinox which was more than capable. There are 2 levels to the pricing, a daily charge per vehicle type, and a per mile charge but even when combined the pricing is very reasonable and compares favorably to renting a car from one of the 'big boys' much further out. I doubt they even read these reviews - but thanks Mike and Albert, and we hope to be back in the future!"
"Great service for visitors to the area.When we arrived we were given an upgraded car for no extra cost. We caught the Amtrak into town and they allowed us to leave our car at the station - and accommodated train delays. Helped us explore the Big Bend Region for a reasonable price."
"We rented a car to use for our vacation. We had a Ford fusion. Car was great on gas, very clean and well taken care of. Gentlemen that helped us out was great and rental price was good."
