"Tyree greater my party upon arrival with a warm and friendly handshake. He proceeded to explain that we would be in good hands for the evening and he did not disappoint. We tried several appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, cheese sticks, and a crab & shrimp dish) all of which were delicious. I decided with Tyree’s guidance to try the Shrimp pasta ( specific name escapes me) . It was a great choice. There were an assortment of desserts to choose from as we were celebrating a friends bday. Tyree even serenaded the bday girl with a violin solo of The birthday song. I won’t wait for another bday party to visit the next time I’m in Midland."

"I was actually a bit surprised about how good the food was. The hotel the restaurant is located in isn’t the nicest and overall, management needs to make some changes. But the food was delicious. You can tell it’s fresh and all made in house. Jess was a great server, he seemed to be doing a lot to keep things running smoothly throughout the restaurant. Here is what I would recommend to management to improve the experience so more customers will stay and come back for the food: It’s clear that all employees are working very hard here but they all seem rushed. To improve customer experience and employee experience get rid of those candles. They’re a mess and the process of cleaning them will frustrate your bus boys, ruin your tables, and make it more difficult to tell if the table is actually clean. Either get something simple like an electric tea candle and a little glass container or just get rid of it all together. Throws off the ambience. At the entrance there are four two seat tables. Get rid of two and turn them sideways. Your servers and busboys have a really difficult time getting into the space and it makes everything awkward for everyone. When we ate there it was one couple at the very end and my husband and I two tables over. Had all those tables been full it would have been way too tight and uncomfortable being that close to other people. You might think that you would lose two potential sales, however you would be at risk at losing four potential sales or end up with frustrated customers and employees if you keep it the way it is. It’s ok if customers have to wait for a table. It happens at any restaurant. Just make sure your employees are professional and attentive and it’ll be fine. You have good food, however ambiance is everything. You need your customers to feel comfortable and want to stay long enough to enjoy the food. You also need create conditions that allow your employees to work effectively. That will improve overall satisfaction and service."

"I'm not sure what friends and family members may be leaving these reviews, but not at all my experience on Valentines day. Staff is totally untrained -- they simply opened with no plan to provide the exceptional service the web page promised. After 45 minutes of sitting.... no one stopped by our table. No water, no bread, no hello... absolutely nothing. It was completely unorganized and sad to watch. I can't take a chance on wasting my time twice, but I do wish this new restaurant success. Luckily, we were able to make last minute reservations at Opals Table to celebrate the day."
