About the Business
Oak Texas Bar & Grill in Brownsville is a true taste of Texas, located at 3230 Pablo Kisel Boulevard. Our establishment, which includes a bar and restaurant, is designed with Texans in mind, offering a unique blend of décor, cocktails, and food that showcases the best of what Texas has to offer. We take pride in using Texas-made products to create a true Texan experience for our guests.
Established in 2016 in Downtown McAllen, we expanded to a second location in North McAllen in 2020. Despite the challenges brought on by a global pandemic, we adapted and innovated our brand to serve our community proudly. Our South Texas Brunch, launched in late 2020, further solidified our reputation in the Rio Grande Valley and inspired us to continue expanding.
Soon, Oak Texas Bar & Grill will be opening locations in Weslaco and South McAllen, offering even more opportunities for guests to enjoy our Texas-inspired menu and atmosphere. For those with larger groups, we will soon be offering a private room for gatherings and special occasions at our South 10th and Weslaco locations.

"The food is delicious! We drove from almost an hour away just to try the food and we were truly satisfied and happy we made the drive. Service was good and the atmosphere is great! Chicken and waffles, cowboy plate and the all American skillet was what we ordered and we were all very happy with our plates! The waffle has a thick homemade whipped cream that is tasty and rich in flavor. The plates come with homemade flour or corn tortillas and are well served! We'll be coming back!"
"Ordered the daily special, but was told the daily special had ended. Waitress explained the menu is incorrect. Then ordered the fish tacos. I did get the tacos, but had to dig in to find any fish. I would order something different if I return. Waitress offered to sell my wife another drink, but didn’t offer a refill of my iced tea. Acoustics are what you may expect with tile floors and a tin ceiling."
"Had a delightful breakfast experience at Oak! The tacos were amazing, bursting with flavor. My enjoyed the avocado toast, and we paired our meal with a couple of mimosas. The service was good. This was our second time there"
"My wife and I stopped in for dinner. We started with fried pickles (best in town) and then had fish tacos, and the tacos and wings. The Buffalo Parmesan wings are great, and tacos are really good as well. Drinks are also very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The entire experience was great. Already looking forward to coming back."
"My family and I had a great brunch today, considering the lights went off on us during the storm. The food was great a little long, but as expected, the restaurant was busy and had flickering power, but the drinks kept us going. We tried mimosas, Lonestar Lemonade, and Cucumber Refresher. My girls even had a alcohol FREE version of the cucumber refresher, and they loved it. It's definitely a must try"
