Yard Bar

"I just sent this email to hello@yardbar, but I figured I’d share it here too: Hi, I just made a trip to Yard Bar to exercise my dog for the last hour that y’all are supposed to be open according to your website. Arriving at about 8:55 pm to two attendants at the front counter with the window open, one attendant greeted me and reached for her laptop (to check us in, it seemed, as usual), but the other attendant jumped up and quickly informed me that the park would be closed at 9pm instead of 10pm. On Saturday I went there at the same time and stayed until about 10, as I have done several times before on weekdays and weekends with no problems, so I was very shocked to be turned away. I asked how long the park would be closing early like this, and was told in a hemming-and-hawing manner “uh, at least until the 11th.” It was a very strange interaction, and completely out of the norm from what I’ve come to expect and enjoy about Yard Bar. Given that I have already paid my monthly fee, I find it very unsettling that the hours would just suddenly change with no prior notice and without a concrete schedule for returning to normal. The way the one employee seemed almost to be improvising this change left me wondering what is actually going on. I love my dog, and my dog loves going to Yard Bar. He gets very excited when we get in the car to go there. It was utterly disappointing to get him all worked up and ready to run around, only to be turned away at the window in such an awkward way. It’s not fair to him, and it’s certainly cast a pall on my own opinion of your establishment. I will definitely not be recommending this place as highly as I once did to my friends and colleagues who own dogs."

"This is definitely going to be our favorite new dog bar when we visit the Austin area. The staff were great at sharing the logistics and getting us through the door. We especially appreciate that outside food and toys are not allowed, it made us feel at ease for our dog. Very well fenced in and the dogs all were having a great time. The beers were great and there was plenty of seating available for us to sit and watch our pups play."

"I love this place. This is a perfect place to take your paw friend over the weekend. You can enjoy a nice beer while your dog runs around playing with their friend. You also get to meet so many nice people and their lovely dogs. They also take care of your dogs and resolve any conflicts that may arise so you don’t constantly have to keep looking out for your dog. This is going to be our new go to place for drinks on the weekend"

"Great place to socialize with other dogs and dog parents. Its a one of kind experience to be here. The gated off leash space has its own beer and food ordering counter. The dog park has fans all around with water sprinklers to help keep the dogs cool. The dogs do need to be neutered and above 4 months of age to use the off leash park. Regardless, there’s a beautiful yard on the other side of the brewery for non-neutered dogs.They also offer a variety of dog food here. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed on the day we visited. Defo recommend this for dog parents"

"Really enjoyed the old school diner vibe of the food and menu design. Everything was cooked to perfection, especially the sliders. We ended up ordering another batch. We didn't go with dogs and sat in the area next to the children's playground. None of the 3 heaters in our vicinity worked. It was also a little frustrating that despite getting there early, they were out of quite a few beers that were still listed on their menu. Wish there was just some indication of what they actually have in stock as we ended up holding up the line a few minutes because the 3 top drinks we intended to order were out. Otherwise, a great experience."
