"Lustre Pearl South was an amazing and accommodating location for my 50th birthday party! They have a beautiful separate event space with its own bar, restrooms, dance floor complete with disco ball, and sound system. Not only is the space private and well laid out, it is also elegant and well decorated. The space easily held our 80 party guests and provided plenty of seating, as well as room for dancing and socializing. It even opens onto a patio/deck, where there is outdoor seating. And what can I say about the staff? The manager was incredibly gracious and helpful from day one. The staff provided a thorough tour of the space, very reasonable pricing to rent it out compared to similar venues nearby, and bar staff for the night of the party. They went out of their ways to make sure the space was spotlessly clean, the sound system was working perfectly, and that we had everything we needed. They simply couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough for hosting parties and social events. We will definitely be back! What a great experience."

"Lots of outdoor seating, dog-friendly, great beers. Food trucks keep changing and so that's a hit it miss. The giant disco ball inside one of the two bars is seizure inducing but easily avoided"

"A favorite amongst watering holes along Manchaca. Very dependent on weather of course and last night was perfect. Great drinks great staff. Never ate from the trailers onsite but it looks tasty!"

"Yesterday I dropped by Luster Pearl for the first time because Austin traffic was being ridiculous at 5:30pm, moreso than usual and I needed to get more work done. I also was sleepy and didn’t want to sit in the parking lot known as 35 in that condition. Luster Pearl was closed but the bar perpendicular to it was open and had some music playing. I sat out back at one of the tables with bench seats, plenty of seating as it wasn’t crowded at all, the ball game was on the tv and one of three food trucks was open. One guy was working in the food truck that offered burgers, sandwiches, grilled cheese (my selection) and some smaller bites. The weather was great, and even though we had evening sun, there was ample shade if I needed it. It’s probably super crowded and lively at some point but folks didn’t start showing up until I was leaving around 8:30pm, fine with me because I was eating and working. The grilled cheese was delish, I actually thought about getting another, and walked over, but the gentleman inside the truck was a bit overwhelmed and asked me to come back in about 7 minutes, I didn’t, my waistline told me to chill out. I grabbed a ginger beer from inside the bar but it was too chilly inside for me to hang out and catch the atmosphere. I’ll try it again on a Saturday afternoon with some friends, maybe meet some new ones. I gave three stars overall because the food options were very limited, no dessert options and they only had one soul who was working hard but alone."

"They’re charging $20 for parking now which “goes toward your tab”. Why not simply validate parking or just make it the price of one drink? $20 is a lot to park at a bar so far from the city center, and not everyone is going to spend $20 at the bar. What if I only want one drink? What if I just want to get food at one of the food trucks and buy a Richard’s Rainwater at the bar? It feels like Lustre is taking a problem, and instead of solving it, they’re passing the problem onto the customer while also increasing their profit. EDIT: I edited my original review to remove most of my negative feelings and focus more on the facts. To respond to the owner’s response below… I literally wrote this review after my friend and I drove separately to Lustre Pearl to grab a drink together (with the intention of getting one drink each at Lustre Pearl South, not going to another bar nearby). We decided to turn around and go home because we didn’t want to spend the required $20 EACH to be able to park in your lot. Nice try suggesting I only have a problem with your new policy because I wanted to misuse your lot. That is absolutely not the case. Thanks for the backhanded accusation. Also, I noticed you didn’t reply to my suggestion of reducing the parking price to only one drink instead of $20. Any reason you can’t do that?"
