"8/4 at around 6:30 pm my daughter and I went in looking for something specific and ended up browsing a bit. When we walked in, we immediately saw a staff member who didn’t acknowledge us or greet us, which is pretty standard whenever we shop in these types of places IYKYK.. We saw another staff member walking around who also didn’t acknowledge us or ask if we needed help, even after she almost bumped into me had I not stopped walking. But, we continued browsing and when we didn’t find what we were looking for, we got in the checkout line. The checkout line had 1 customer ahead of us and when they finished paying, the cashier immediately walked into the room behind the counter. Figuring she’d come out shortly since she definitely saw us move up, we waited. When she walked out of the room, she left the area without saying anything to us. Not “I’ll be right back,” or asking us what we needed, nada. I turned to my daughter and we looked at each other like: What just happened? So we continued waiting and the other cashier came over to us and asked if we needed help. I told her that this cashier just left us hanging without saying a word, and that no one had spoken to us since we walked in, and she apologized. I showed her what I was looking for on my phone and she said it was her first day working there, but at the previous Anthropologie, they kept that item in the checkout area, so they did not have it at the moment. Online said they did have it in stock, but at that point I wasn’t going to push it. I thanked her for her help and she again apologized. I obviously don’t know the reasoning behind those other 2 or 3 staff members ignoring us. Were they too busy to tell us to hold on while they finished something? Are they rude to all customers? Who knows? I can only deduce that we don’t look like their usual clientele, and that they point blank did not want to give us the time of day. There was not an employee there who looked like us, judging from the all white girls working. So, to my fellow POC with money to burn: shop somewhere else. We are not welcome here."

"Very friendly staff! I was expecting to see more items in the store, but overall it was good to browse for candles and mugs. Parking is not a problem. The location is convenient since it is very close to the Whole Foods market and also to the BookPeople book&coffee shop."
