"Wow seriously the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time. Randomly made a stop here and was not disappointed! Everything tasted great. Generally I might just have the non veg items but there I couldn’t miss the veg either."

"What a joyful experience we had at this desi Indian buffet. The cuisine line up was just exquisite, goat curry, Fish Biryani, Chicken curry various varieties, Makhana curry which was delish to name a few. One needs to try this amazing venue right in the heart of Austin on a weekend."

"This India Gate has the most authentic Indian Cuisine in Central Texas and South Texas that I’ve tasted. The Goat Biryani was outstanding! One of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten biryanis all over the world. It’s well seasoned & the rice was cooked to perfection. It has a semi-gravy that is essential for a proper biryani. The Butter Chicken—also one of the best: tomatoey, tangy, slightly sweet, perfect amount of salt and smooth masala combination. The Paneer-Cashew Pulao was also great—unique to the area. The only suggestion I have about the pulao is to minimize the use whole spices, as they tend to fragment during the cooking & sharing process. Naans were fluffy & tasty. Gobi Manchurian was perfect: crunchiness, flavor and overall texture (outstanding!). The Apollo Fish was very good as well, but this was a spicier version—you can ask to reduce the green chilis. Mango Lassi was thick, rich & mangoey. The Masala Chai: Insanely Delicious, Rich and Creamy, but I need it sweeeeeet, so I was prepared by bringing my own Punjabi Shakkar (Punjabi Evaporated Cane Juice). Staff was also amazing—we were able to meet the Head Chef: Padma. Overall, popular Indian Cuisine from North to South is typically spicy & warming, so prepare your palate. NOTE: Many people in the world are allergic to certain peppers and chilies, so it’s not necessarily Indian Cuisine that can irritate the gut & bowel. What makes it worse (in the gut) is the mix of chilies & dairy, which can potentially compound any irritability. We’ll return for the buffet and do another review. Thank you India Gate for bringing so many great tastes of India to America and ATX."

"Did a take-out order at this place and had a very good experience with the food. Both quantity and quality was very good. The food tasted good.. it is a little on the spicy side, so if you are not fond of spice do make sure you ask it to be toned down when ordering. Ordered the Punugulu, Gobi65, Veg Biryani and the Guthi Venkaya pulao - they all tasted really good but was also oily. The sides(Chutney) that came with the Punugulu was very good too! The service was fine but again, mine was a take-out order, so it was just a pay, pickup and go experience which was smooth. The person that took my order on phone answered all my questions and the person that gave me my take-out was friendly answering all my questions. The spot is located in a plaza, sharing its parking lot.. so there is ample space to park your vehicle all around. Will update my review if at all I do a dine-in sometime in the future!"
