"This place was a hit, came in on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't packed. Got our food quickly, had a nice lunch and were in and out in 1 hr. The food was phenomenal. Great fall off the bone smoked meats, I'm not a BBQ sauce lover but the Stubb's sauce was good and everything was delicious. Try the Serrano Cheese Spinach it was so good. This place is better and more food for your dollar than Black's BBQ."

"1/11/2024 Stubb's Bar-B-Q 801 Red River St Austin, TX 78701 I went there for a Thursday dinner during a visit to Austin. It's in downtown close to all the hotels, about a 10 minute walk from mine. I did not notice any parking lot. There are multiple eating areas and there is a performance stage in the basement which was not being used. After reviewing the menu, I was seated promptly and ordered the Brisket sandwich plate with coleslaw and collard greens side. The foot arrived quickly on a butcher paper lined steel tray with the sides in hefty steel bowls. The Brisket was very good and moist, with a slight smoky flavor. Both lean and fatty pieces of beef were present; the lean was dryer than the fatty pieces. The coleslaw was mostly shredded green cabbage topped with sliced carrots and red cabbage in a slightly sweet light dressing. The collard greens were very good with a smoky flavor from the bits of Brisket. The “legendary” BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for me and my meat didn't really need it. The portions were generous and the meal was a tasty good value. Service was quick and excellent. Definitely repeatable."

"The BBQ here is really great - my most recent visit I had the one meat plate with brisket. The brisket had great flavor! The mac and cheese was also fantastic - so nice and cheesy! I have been to countless concerts over the years at this venue as well. The most recent show I saw was Eric Nam. The sound system and stage set up is great. There is plenty of room to stand to watch concerts. If you want a really good spot you like, opt for early entry when purchasing your tickets."

"We actually came to Stubb's for the Alt-J concert and even though I have been here before, I did not know there was a restaurant upstairs. We ordered the $11 three item side platter. It was really good. We chose the fried okra, the fries and the cole slaw. The fries and the okra were hot and crispy. The coleslaw was more vinegar based and was not swimming in mayonnaise; this was a plus and was good enough for me. On the concert side the sound was really good. The security staff were unnecessarily unpleasant and threatening when I was just walking to the VIP section up the walkway."

"A must visit if you are into BBQ. This place is an Austin landmark and had a deep history of BBQ and of live music. I have been many times and it never disappoints. Got the two meat plate with sliced brisket and smoked turkey. For sides got coleslaw and beans. The meats were cooked perfectly and the BBQ sauce complimented the flavors nicely. The beans were spicy just the way I like them. The coleslaw was very nice also. Service was excellent. Inside the place was rustic and clean. Very much enjoyed eating here!"
