"My car was giggling when I'm accelerating & needed to be looked at. I went to an auto repair shop nearby. That repair shop wanted to repair my transmission and gave a quote of $4,900. It floored me because I didn't realized my transmission was in such bad shape. This repair shop nearby did a "diagnostic" which cost me $300. I told them that I will bring my car back in the shop because of a previously committed engagement & it's obvious, my car was still drivable. A few days later, I called this repair shop near me to let them know that I'll be dropping my car off later in the week. I guess it was a slip of the tounge when they told me that, "no problem. Your car is in good shape. We really couldn't find anything wrong with your car" So, what was that $300 diagnostic, and the $4,900 quote was for? Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment with that repair shop near me. I went to Honea's Automotive after someone suggested to see Doug, the owner. Doug had a lot of cars in his lot. He was very busy, but pleasant when I approached the counter. I told him briefly what I was experiencing with my car and he said, "no problem, we'll take a look at it". A few hours later, Doug called to tell me that I need my transmission flushed and gave me the cost. Doug saved me about $4,480. A few weeks in and my car is running very well.
