"This place is great and has been around forever. Can't go wrong with the chicken Tikka masala. Plus Naan bread or Samosas if you need to fill up more. Very cool vibes in here. Bar area plus tables. Suitably dark, which works wonders during the hot Austin weather, plus outdoor tables if that suits you better. Nice selection beers on tap. Wine too. This is also a beer and wine to go store with good selection as well."

"It was indeed a disappointing evening at Whip in for us. We chose to sit at the bar, enticed by one of our favorite beers, La Vie en Rose, on tap. However, our initial excitement was dampened by the unfriendly demeanor of a bartender who didn't seem suited for the role. Throughout our meal, our 8oz glass of beer remained the only beverage we had, as she never checked on us or offered another drink, despite our empty glass right in front of her. Interestingly, she appeared to enjoy her interactions with coworkers but seemed irritated when attending to us. We were even compelled to ask the cashier to settle our tab. It's puzzling why individuals with such poor customer service skills pursue jobs where customer service is paramount. We also questioned whether our tip contributes to her income. On a side note, the dinner we ordered was advertised as having a medium spice level, but it was devoid of any heat"

"The food is pretty good, the beer selection is nice, and i like the atmosphere. Staff isn’t super welcoming and pick up orders aren’t typically ready on time. The bike racks suck pretty bad. They aren’t secured to the ground very well and are positioned at the bottom of a steep slope making them very hard to use."

"One of my favorite bars in Austin. Really good Indian style food, a great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere both inside and out. I've noticed that there has been some turn over in staff, but they always seem to hire good folks. Wait staff is friendly and will let you try before you buy. Final point if you are just looking for a to-go beer and wine selection they also have you covered with an excellent selection of craft, both local and not."
