"The best food in Austin. The portions are big and tasty. Their Kabab is #1 in Austin. I really recommend trying every dish on their menu."

"The owner cooked two large plates (chicken plate and fried chicken plate) fast! He also had multiple phone orders and 3 people who ordered after us. He is a one man show and is holding the place down. My first time being here and the food was amazing- huge portions- fresh herbs and lemon garnish- as well as sauce. I will be returning."

"I absolutely love this place, the owner is amazing and the food is so flavorful. I love spreading the word about this hidden gem, I wish this place was more publicized because it is so amazing. I love getting the lamb beef shawarma sandwich, it is so flavorful and juicy, I wish I could give this place 20 stars. To the owner; keep up the good work!!"

"So much excellent food! The pictures don't do it justice. Kebab was made from scratch when ordered and perfectly seasoned, ground, shaped, & grilled. Lamb Shawarma, Meat Hummus, and the Gyro wrap were amazing, too. All the boxes were full, and each included a large pita. The pitas were fresh & tender, while also sturdy, with the right amount of chew. Our large order was ready before the 30-minute estimated wait time. We will definitely be back! Side story about Al Demashqi's Meat Hummus: At most places, meat hummus means a container/side of hummus with a small scoop of ground meat on top. So, when we opened our bags & boxes and didn't see a plastic to-go cup with a scoop of meat, we thought it was missing. I walked back to the counter and asked if it was missed. The chef told me he was sure he'd made the meat and the meal, double-checked all his surfaces for it, and then asked me to look again for the box with meat on hummus. His emphasis on meat changed what I was looking for. And he was right! Our order was correct, and there was so much meat that the hummus was buried! It looked similar to the attached picture of lamb shawarma, including pita, sauce & vegetables, but hiding under all that delicious meat was an equally large portion of delicious hummus. It was so tasty & so filling that we stuffed ourselves and still have plenty for lunch today. All that to say: Al Demashqi didn't cut corners. The portions were all substantial. You can tell the chef takes great pride in making meals he's proud to serve."

"Random internet search turned up Al Demashqi and while investigating their menu I came across a menu item simply called "Arabic family shawarma". It was the most expensive item on their menu and so my daughter and I decided we needed to see what magic lay under this and purchased it. When I arrived to pick it up the chef seemed very excited to be producing this and assured me we were going to love it. He was not wrong! My goodness SO delicious. 4 kinds of shawarma wrapped in pita served over fried potatoes with garlic and tahini sauces, fresh vegetables and pickles. It's enough food for 12 people easily and a tremendous value. 10/10 will get again!"
