"Recommended options in South Austin. Open until 9pm. Visited for weekday lunch and not much crowded. Service was fast for to-go order through online.Briyani was good and less spicy. Tandoori was well cooked. South Austin has less Indian restaurants than North Austin but this reachable from Mopac/290. Wide parking space with accessibility parking available infront of restaurant. Happy Dining"

"This was a fantastic experience for dinner, the staff was incredibly nice and were fast to check up on us and refill water. Parking was easy, good location. The only thing that made me take a point off for food was the ‘medium’ spicy level was very mild but the food was still delicious. Would suggest trying the Chicken 65 appetizer as well."

"Saffron is a traditional Indian restaurant which serves Indian & Nepalese flavours. We went for an early dinner and occupied the window-side table for better outside views. The ambience and the exotic atmosphere feels everyone relaxed. There too many options in Veg and Non-Veg. We ordered Chicken tikka masala and Gobi Manchuria hot with Garlic nan. The food is tasty, I expected little spicy but it's okay .. The staff service is fast and excellent. It is really a good experience to taste the real flavors of Indian food. We loved this place. It is one of the best place for Indian food lovers and Must visit place for Vegetarians.."

"Note: this review is for take out. We ordered takeout and the food was out of this world. We were genuinely impressed with everything we ordered = the Saffron Chicken Lazeez, Baigan Bhartha, Chicken Tikka Kebab, and Kolonji Paneer Tikka. Each dish had its own distinct flavor profile. you could taste the delicious smoked eggplant in the Baigan Bhartha. The Saffron chicken Lazeez was unlike anything I've ever had and again the flavors and textures just meshed so well together! The Kolonji Paneer Tikka and the Chicken Tikka Kabob were both cooked to perfection. Personally, I prefer Indian restaurants that use minimal oil and pay meticulous attention to crafting specific flavors for each dish. This place is my new favorite and I will definitely be back!"

"Awesome service and great food! It can be tough to find consistently good Indian food in Austin, let alone Nepalese - you get options for both at Saffron South! Gobi Manchurian is a wonderful surprise - never think to order a cauliflower starter, but this one packs a punch of complex flavor! We ordered more than we could possibly eat (hooray for leftovers), but the mains that stood out to me from a flavor profile were the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Lamb Vibdaloo (yes, it’s just as hot as you’d expect). Recommend ordering a few options and attacking them tapas-style so that you can enjoy more variety. You really can’t go wrong with a lunch visit here b/c the restaurant is moderately busy, but still plenty of time for excellent service and attention from the staff. One call out: at Saffron South, you’re not here for the drinks, you’re here for the food, and that’s where I’d recommend putting your money. Delicious!"
