"This was our second time here. Both times did NOT disappoint. The food was delicious and our waiter Daniel was very knowledgeable, recommended the Chile relleno which wouldn’t have ordered and are glad we didn’t miss! We got the meat boat, guacapoke, the chicken karaage, the taiyaki cornbread and the avocado and lotus salad. For dessert we had the cornbread pudding - heaven! We left about ready to burst and happy as clams!"
"Been hearing about Kemuri for a bit now, so I figured it was time to pop in. Tried a few items off the happy hour menu (half off by the way!) The Kara-Age chicken was probably my favorite meal there! The hot poketz and the takoyaki were also pretty good. The match painkiller and the kurakura came in these really good glasses! Definitely a spot to check out if you’re looking to try something new."
"Awesome, awesome, awesome spot! Kemuri tatsu-ya hits everything - incredible food and service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend the smoked tuna, the brisket (miso bbq sauce is insane) and the bbq eel. We also loved the edamame tossed in spices and beef tallow, and the hot pocketz (grilled cheese with tofu skin instead of bread and Gouda and brisket inside). Thoroughly enjoyed the Shiso Fresh cocktail, def going to attempt to copy it at home!"
"This place awesome! I don't have the perfect word to describe the feeling that I got walking into this restaurant. The decor, the smell, the lighting.. that feeling like you walked through the front door and allnof a sudden you are in a Japanese video game, stopping at an inn along the way of the quest that you are on, for supper and drinks.. especially with the weather in Austin today, being currently 24 degrees outside. I enjoy my dining experience so much that I just forgot to take pictures after the first few dishes arrived. I NEED to go back again, and again and again and again...... the food is freaking delicious! Highlights: The Brisket, Smoked Tuna, Kara-age Chicken, BBQ Tsukeme, Hot Pocketz. We ordered so much more, but I was just enjoying the heck out of the evening, forgot to the more pictures.. there will be next time!"
