"Wow! Just wow! Every dish on the table was completely devoured! The meal was outstanding, from the fried chicken to the shrimp and grits, the Jersey chicken, and the island pepper shrimp. I'd give it 10 stars out of 5 if I could! All the side dishes were so delicious they had us licking our fingers."

"Tucked on the side of a Valero gas station, but don’t be fooled by the outside. This is a true gem in Sunnyside. What a remarkable place that stands as a culinary beacon for the community at large. The only coffee shop on the block, I read, too. The ingredients are fresh, curated in a way that really stands out. The flavors are delightful, packaging Caribbean food in portions that your family would want you to eat. For the full story of this place and its owners, Google Houstonia Magazine and Kuji Kitchen. What an absolute delight to support this establishment. I will come back and bring more friends!"

"I never knew this place was here. They told me they opened in February. The outside is easy to miss but they are working to get a sign. The inside is very nice and clean. They offered me suggestions since I said it was my first visit. I got Jerk chicken, African soul rice and Gullah greens. The chicken was amazing. Tender and full of flavor and the sauce was delicious. The Gullah greens are now my favorite veggie side dish and I want more. I didn’t much care for the rice but that is not their fault it was just something I wasn’t fond of. I will definitely be back to try the shrimp that is getting such good reviews or the curry goat."

"Service was quick and food is fresh, chef designed and so rich & delicious. We had the vegan version of the braised ribs and a vegan jerk chicken samosa. Both were so good and the samosa was huge. Store shares a wall with a convenience store but the quality is top notch! Also they have a store made tea that is so very good."

"Its said that you cant have good things in the hood. I believe this owner is out to prove the world that a NICE successful business can be present here. The food tastes like its made with mother's recipes. Eggs well seasoned, not that plain stuff you see at most newer restaraunts these days. Grits very flavorful and not watered down. They taste like a true southern grits. The sausage was hand pressed instead of frozen and cut. You can really appreciate the care given to the quality of the food. While I dont care too much for alternative options like vegan eggs, plany based milk, and etc, its nice for the options to be available to those who do. We don't have many places like that in this area! The owner personally extended her hospitality to every one who entered. If she is reading this, I hope she takes this next note serious. I was encouraged to buy the rum cake with my wife present. She should have told me to buy a minimum of 2. Now my wife and I are fighting over it... Also let the french toast soak another few seconds(thats a personal preference but perhaps could work for more people). Thanks!"
