"On Fridays you get a hot entree for $3.99. That is 1/2 price. We had a Swedish meatball dinner with mashed potatoes, peas, gravy and lingonberry jam. It tasted good."

"This review strictly covers only the Christmas dinner event offered by the restaurant. I don't see any mention online about this location so Im posting here. As a aside, I did hear offhand that breakfast is 2.99 for a small or 4.99 for a large. This is a ticket only event offered right after Thanksgiving at the restaurant only. Tickets are 19.99 or 16.99 if you are a IKEA family member. I went to the 630pm to 800 time. There is a earlier slot for 430 pm to 6. We waited outside while the staff are preparing the food and dining area. They will give you a colored wristband to identify who is participating in the event. Food is obtained by the usual cafeteria style method. Hot items are served in the back of the restaurant by staff. Some items are grouped together on a platter such as desserts and the smaller meat and egg items. For example, the gravalax is served with the herring. The ham is more of salty meaty ham. In fact one of the few items that had plenty of salt. Rest of the items are more subtle in their taste. A lot of the items are just stuff reheated, defrosted, or opened from the food store below. Still good though. The highlight of the meal are the whole filets of smoked and poached salmon topped with sliced cucumber. Soft drinks are just soda, diet soda, and the fizzy berry drink. I did like glogg. It was a sweet herbal drink. There is some festive decor on the tables and the wall and are pretty nice. They also had expat kids sing some songs. That was nice. I enjoyed the event, well worth if you have the time."

"Quality has definitely gone downhill. Prices are still very reasonable though so maybe that's the draw. The meatballs were dry, the mashed potato had very little flavor. It was like the diet version of what this used to be. Garlic bread still amazing, wish it had been warm though. I went at 2pm so maybe the quality is better closer to noon or 7pm?"

"This is one of the best places to have a leisurely meal in Houston. Their food tastes like it is a gourmet offering but they charge you fast food restaurant prices. Maybe not to to everyones liking but I always enjoy the meal here. Sometimes I just come here for coffee and dessert when passing by."
