"Granted I came in about an hour prior to close so I was expecting "not the most fresh" even though the meal was just fine. My critiques really just come down to taste- it was just good. Not amazing, not bad... just good. The ribs were the better of the two meats I got. The brisket just didn't have a good pop of flavor or that smokey taste even though it had a nice bark. The baked beans were pretty nice and I enjoyed the potatoe salad. My biggest complaint is the BBQ sauce- it's kinda trash... it just tastes like think, peppery tomatoe sauce. I'm not expecting a molasses or brown sugar taste, but this was heavy on the acidity of the tomatoes. BL- I will probably look for somewhere else, but wouldn't make a fuss if I ended up here again."
"This is a great place and has a really cool interior with huge chandeliers and old fashioned wood tables. The brisket here is delicious and I also enjoy the half chicken. They have good Mac and cheese and green beans and I like the pecan pie for dessert. Parking is tight. I have not been able to find a space before at lunch. It has a cafeteria style serving line and you pay when you get your food. You will refill your own drinks at the line as there is no table service besides bussers."
"Incredible taste & value. Loaded baked potatoes that was still hot after heaps of brisket, butter, sour cream & great sauce that didn't bite back. Sauce complimented beef instead of overpowering it. Plus I could tell outer skin was scrubbed because very smooth & edible although I was already stuffed. I just like to test the skin."
"October 2023: This review is for a take out order. Tried the brisket, sausage, beans and potato salad. Really enjoyed the brisket and the beans. Beans were nicely cooked and flavored. Brisket had excellent seasoning and paired well with the barbeque sauce. I would definitely try eating at the restaurant next time to check out the atmosphere."
"Service was amazing. Here's where I am disappointed. The brisket was dry. Almost like jerky. I paid 22.50 for 8 oz of meat that was not cooked great. Update: Spoke with Manager. Good service again. Just disappointed I lost my appetite."
