The first location opened in downtown Milwaukee in 2003 and was named after founder Johnny Vassallo's mother, Maureen, who is of Irish heritage. The bar was inspired by traditional Irish pubs, with the first Pub's bar being imported straight from Ireland.

"Hubby and I came in out of pure curiosity. We were ready to be underwhelmed since it is a bar. We were pleasantly surprised that we were wrong. We came in and found that their breakfast is amazing if your craving breakfast for lunch. We came back the next day since I was curious to try their Shepard's pie. It was delicious. The staff is super friendly. Ismael was one of the reasons we decided to come back and try other menu items. He was super helpful and attentive. We will be coming back to try their burgers."
"We came in like wrecking ball... honestly, we did, we were there after a service for a friend. I'm sorry we were loud, but even with all that behavior. Our waiter was awesome. Jimmy saw us, and it took no time for him to see why adults were acting this way. He was absolutely friendly, professional, attentive, and just pleasant. Regarding the actual place. The food was really good, the drinks were served well, cold and full. Very nice bar with outside seating and lots of bar space. Sports, TVs, and a very nice bar"

"Love coming here for date nights. Love the bar and the huge selection. Service is always great and the food is surprisingly top notch. Our favorite is a Saturday night event with a band. Sitting on the patio is great, even on chilly nights. Nice fireplace and heaters to keep you warm."
"This is the location of the Cheddar head pack club of houston. They have a great menu. The rock star of the menu is Guinness Float. A ice cream float made with real Guinness. The hummus plate was fantastic, and so was the burger. The beermosa is fantastic and should also not be missed. If you are looking for a good time out or to watch a game, you will enjoy this place."
