NG Cafe

"This place is so so delicious! And the family that owns it is the absolute sweetest. We visited NG Cafe on a chilly Austin night and this was the perfect atmosphere and menu for the occasion. We went with the turmeric pancakes, Tom Kha soup, beef drunken noodles and the pork belly bahn mi. We loved it all, but our favorite was the pork belly bahn which came on a homemade flaky delicious roll. We took up two tables for all the food we ordered (oops!). They have an amazing lineup of homemade pastries and desserts made in-house by the owner’s son. We ordered a slice of the cookie dough cake and it’s probably one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and grab the sesame roll while you’re at it(10/10). I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t regret it!"

"There’s 2 parking spots for “Pick-up/ To-go” orders. I did Dine-in. Restaurant sits at the corner of a shopping strip. Parking is limited during lunch 11:30a-1:30p but I easily parked at the back side of Buffalo Wild Wings and crossed the small street. I ordered the Banh Xeo (turmeric pancake w/ both pork & shrimp), it takes about 20mins to make. When eating, cut a piece of the pancake, wrap it inside the lettuce tight with carrot & cilantro then dip in sauce. While I waited, they offer 1st (small) bowl of soup for free, $1.50 for 2nd. I ordered the Hot & Sour soup which was very flavorful and not too spicy. I also ordered the coconut cream-filled (whipped) bread. The indoor vibe is calm with low, piano music playing, dim lighting, variety of plants and thoughtful decor. The service is quick & very friendly, always with a smile. I’m glad I found this place only 6 mins from my house, MUST try. P.S. I could hear the majority of people ordering Banh Mi and someone said the pork was amazing! I was in and out in 40mins."

"This place is wonderful! The Owner was working the counter and takes great pride in his menu with home recipes made by his wife who's making the food for you in the kitchen! They both have lovely warm hospitality and make you feel very comfortable. The atmosphere has great decor and amazing healthy plants throughout! When you order an entree, it comes with your choice of the best egg drop soup I've ever had, or a hot & sour soup. We ordered the Vermicelli with pork and it was very fresh and filling. We also ordered the ribeye Bahn Mi that we didn't want to end! The customer service was great and they already have to go containers premade for you to take from the wall to the right of the counter. You will love this place!"

"Great food. Quick service and clean place. They make drunken noodles really spicy so ask them to not make it super spicy. Egg drop soup was good. The hot and sour was a little sweet and smoky. I don't recommend getting vegetable rolls it is the same everywhere."

"Best freshly baked tofu baguette I have tried so far. They make there own tofu and bake baguette every day. All the recipes are made from scratch it-seems. Worth trying out tofu baguette for sure. Good service was offered. Tried their papaya salad. Loved the flavor where the spiciness was coming from green chilies. Tofu was very fluffy and you can definitely differentiate store brought vs this store tofu. The baguette was right crisp and you can feel the freshness for sure. Next time I will only visit this place for tofu banh mi for sure. Worth trying."
