"They use to be the Kolache Shoppe on Burnet and has since moved to Mesa Drive. I remember going to their burnet storefront back in college 15 years ago and loved their sticky buns and cinnamon twist. I would drive out of my way to get some. They’ve been around for 45 years and know what they’re doing. Their new location has pizza. They make their dough and pizza sauce. Came here on a Friday and they have $1.50 slices of pizza after 11am. Their specialty pizzas were good but a tad over toasted. Their kolaches were just as delicious as I remember. The dough was nice and fluffy and the salt they sprinkled around the edge of the fruit kolaches made it the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Most kolaches shop have to warm up their kolaches but these were so fresh they were still pillowy soft at room temp. The owner and staff were very friendly."
"I’ve been dying to try this place out and I’m glad I had time to stop in this morning. I ordered two jalapeño, cheese, sausage kolaches. They are perfectly crafted. The sausage is thick. The cheese compliments the jalapeño well. The bread is so flavorful and soft. I also ordered a raisin cinnamon roll, and it did not disappoint. They are family owned which is a plus. They are also very inviting and friendly. The inside has plenty of seating if you want to dine-in. Austin Kolache & Koffee & Pizzeria is one of the better Kolache places in Austin. They are located close to where I live, so I’ll most definitely return for a slice of pizza."
