Bar Saint George

"I went there on a recommendation from a customer. I walked in, and on the right is the lobby area of the hotel. There was a young lady standing behind the counter, head down, looking at what appeared to be a ledger or book of some sort. She never looked up. To the left was the bar/restaurant area. Both were clean and well lit, but small. The restaurant had one girl behind the bar making a coffee drink. There was one gentleman sitting at the bar, and 3 tables had patrons. One lady was alone working on her laptop and eating her lunch. Another table had 3 ladies eating their lunch, and the third table had a lady and gentleman waiting for their food. They had drinks, no menues so assumed they had ordered. I stood for several minutes, trying to decide what the protocol was. Neither employee spoke or gave direction, so I moved closer to the bar and stood. The girl took the coffee she made to the table, then went back behind the bar and busied herself; never acknowledging or speaking to me. I finally stepped up to the bar and said, "Excuse me, I need to get some lunch. Do I just pick a table or sit at the bar?" She never looked up and said, "I'll be with you in a minute. " So I stepped back to give the man eating at the corner of the bar, some space, and waited. Another 5 min went by while she fiddled behind the bar. I finally turned around and walked out. Food looked appetizing and was highly recommended, but the service was atrocious. Would not recommend or return."

"Mooney was always there to greet us. He remembered us each time. He was very accommodating to get us a table on a crowded Weds night. Elena was there for breakfast. She is also great, very attentive and sweet. The egg white omelet is so awesome!! We love the bar, hotel and LaVenture."

"I hit this hotel bar "late" night for a night cap and a bite to eat and enjoyed it so much I went back the next night. The bartender was super friendly despite being super busy with the full bar. I couldn't resist the crab cake with sherry cream and picked okra which was incredible! They have televisions to catch the game as well and it's always a great people watching bar, especially during event weekends."

"Came here when other restaurants had too long a line and was very happy we did. We did not realize they had a full dinner menu until coming in, and there was no wait. The Crab Cake in particular was great. Good Margaritas (with deals on Wednesday) Very solid steak frites. Great service too."
