About the Business

Mississinewa Reservoir

Mississinewa Reservoir, located at 5613 E Mississinewa Dam Road in Peru, Indiana, is a popular campground, lodging, park, and tourist attraction. The institution includes Miami SRA, Red Bridge SRA with a marina, Frances Slocum SRA, and Pearson Mill SRA.

Mississinewa Lake is one of the three Upper Wabash flood-control reservoirs, offering excellent fishing, hunting, and boating opportunities in the heart of north-central Indiana. The property features a 400-plus-site campground, family cabins, and was the first in Indiana to introduce seasonal camping. The surrounding forests, prairies, and farmland provide habitat for a variety of wildlife, making it a great spot for hikers, bird watchers, and bicyclists.

For water safety, visitors can learn from Bobber the Water Dog, brought to you by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. There are also several trails available for hiking, including the Easy Access Trail, Lost Sister Trail, Blue Heron Trail, Moswa Trail, and Shepoconnah Trail. Visitors can pick up self-guided brochures at the property office for more information on these trails.

Overall, Mississinewa Reservoir is a beautiful destination for outdoor enthusiasts looking to enjoy nature and recreational activities in Indiana.

"There are several options at Miami Missinewa campground. There's a nice snack bar and store. Very clean beach ,with a playground. There's several places to fish. Found the lost sister trail on other side of lake to be a nice trail. The dam had lots of fish."

"Used to be really great place for fishing but sure seems overfished anymore, especially when you get the foreigners that thinks they need to keep EVERYTHING, even during spawning season. The campground is nice place, beach is okay, but just watch yourself out there. I've seen kids come out with cuts on their foot and I've seen human poo floating around the swimmers. The trails are nice to explore!"

"Had a lot of fun at the beach with some family. We had a picnic lunch and floated in our tubes while others just sat and chilled!"
