Ravine Park

Ravine Park is a sprawling ninety-acre park located at 801 Ravine Park Boulevard in Attica, Indiana. The park begins on the west end near downtown and extends about one and a half miles east. It features a wooded area with Brady's Branch stream running through it, along with a one-half mile nature trail that includes five pedestrian bridges. The park also offers amenities such as picnic tables, park benches, playground equipment, a frisbee golf course, and horseshoe pitching.

The middle section of the park includes a large shelter, small shelters, and the Jackson Street trail, while the eastern section, Arms Woods, consists of thirty-five acres of wooded trails. The park boasts three distinct trail systems, including the Nature Trail, the Jackson Street Trail, and the Arms Woods Trail. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful walk or run in the woods, with benches and picnic tables provided along the trails.

In addition to Ravine Park, there are other parks in Attica such as Circle Park, McDonald Park, Happy Walter Field, Ben and Mary Bowles Park, Riley Park, and Ouabache Park. Portland Arch Nature Preserve, a stunning 436-acre area with sandstone cliffs, forests, wetlands, and prairies, is also located nearby. The preserve is home to unique plant species and the iconic Portland Arch sandstone formation carved by Spring Creek.

Visitors to Portland Arch can explore the North and South trails, with picturesque views of cliffs, creeks, and lush vegetation. The preserve has a rich history dating back to the first settlers in Western Indiana, and remnants of past resorts and camps can still be seen. With its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, Portland Arch Nature Preserve offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
