"We were so excited when we first came to Chattanooga and started our home search. Our agent was amazing and took us to Black Creek which is a wonderful community. We ended up purchasing a home from Curate because of the location and the view. Our process started off fantastic with the design team, they knocked it out of the park. The issue was they oversold for sure. The builder could not produce the quality that we were sold, The builder could not get much right from the start. From grading to the finish work there was always a problem. They were constantly making mistakes and having to tear out what they had just put in. They didn't catch their mistakes we had to find them and point them out. If we hadn't been on them every step I feel they would have just hid their mistakes and walked away. There was so many issues and it kept getting worse. They could not complete on time and if we hadn't kept pushing they would have taken longer. Not happy with the quality for sure but love the neighborhood . My recommendation is read the contract do not sign unless you really understand what they are stating, Their contract benefit them and not you as a buyer at all. Do not sign their addendum without knowing that they have the right continuously extend the contract. It's so sad because we were so excited and now we are in the process of fixing their poor quality and mistakes ourselves and it's a brand new house. The house will end up what we want it to be and we will love the area but I would never ever recommend or buy from Cuate! FYI I have owned 6 homes 3 of which I've had built and I have never experienced this before."
"Building our new house at Black Creek was an incredible experience! The amazing team there made the whole process a pleasure. We first met Jamie by accident – another agent at a Greentech development recommended we check out Black Creek. We spent some time with her, talking about what we wanted in a house and what Greentech could offer (Curate hadn’t split off yet). She took us all around the Knoll, and the rest of the Black Creek community. When we returned home, we talked with some friends who had built a house in NJ, going over some of the problems they had during construction. When we returned to Chattanooga a few months later, we looked some more at the Knoll and a quick look through the mudfield that would become the Garrison. In early February of 2020, we picked a floor plan and signed a contract while at home in New York. Then came Covid. We had originally planned on flying down for design meetings. Instead, we had all our meetings with Piper, our designer, by Zoom calls. We would narrow color choices down and Piper would send us samples to make a final decision. She also sent us links from the suppliers for lights, cabinets, paint and hardware. Luckily, paint companies are all over, so we could get color swatches in NY and they would be able to paint in Chattanooga. Due to Covid delays and slowdowns, we had all the design decisions made before construction actually started. When construction did start (almost a year after we signed), we met two more of the Curate team – our Project Manager, Laura, and her assistant, Karen. From groundbreaking until completion we received photos documenting everything – foundations and footings, decking, stud work, roofing, windows, inspections – everything. In March of ’21, we were finally able to meet all these people in person, and others, when we did the electrical walk through. From a shell of a house at this point to a fully-finished house four months later, there were more pictures, phone calls, texts and Zooms – from fixing ‘oops’ to final details. Throughout the entire process, everyone was a pleasure to work with. Designing and building a house isn’t easy at the best of the times. Doing it from 800 miles away during a pandemic should have been a disaster. The fact that it wasn’t is a testament to the professionalism of the entire Curate team."
"Curate… WOW!!! Just an amazing experience for us with our build. From day 1 with Jamie with the sale to design with Piper, Sarah and Ryan and the build with Laura and Sara the attention to detail during the build. We were out of state doing this but felt so comfortable with the team keeping us updated with pics, texts and phone calls… the house is gorgeous… the quality and details are amazing, so much more than what we are used to for a much better price. Thank you to all, Curate is an awesome company!!!"
"Working with Curate Custom Homes has been amazing! Jamie and Laura are absolutely wonderful. I met Jamie the first day that I decided I was ready to look for a new home. She was so kind and professional and was the first person to help me make building my dream home a reality. I have lived in my home for almost two months now and she still contacts me and makes sure everything is going great! Laura was my project manager and I cannot say enough good things about her. She truly is a gem! She is the epitome of professionalism and takes pride in her work. Her attention to detail is stellar and she is always on time and takes care of everything. I could not have asked for a better team to build my home than Curate! Thank you for making my dream home a reality! I am forever grateful."
"We had an excellent experience working with the Curate Custom Homes Team. At the very first meeting with the Curate team they demonstrated an attitude of professionalism, cooperation, along with a strong customer focus. That attitude and professionalism continued throughout the project. The first meeting was to establish the structural needs of our home as well as the types of windows we wanted. The Curate team was extremely helpful in guiding us through this process. The next meetings were with the design team. We spent 3 two-hour sessions reviewing all aspects of the interior and exterior design of our home. The design team provided us with many great selections, as well as guidance in helping us shape our choices. We were very happy with the way the team helped us realize our vision for the home. Finally, the construction started, and we began to see our home take shape. Given that we lived 1,000 miles from Chattanooga we were unable to visit the site on a regular basis. Instead we relied on photos and text and phone communications with our project manager. In all we received over 650 photos documenting the progress on our home. When we had questions or concerns we contacted our project manager Laura and she quickly responded to us and addressed any questions or concerns we had. All in all the whole process took about 7- 8 months. This was the first time we had ever built our home and we were extremely satisfied with the process and the final product. I believe the most important thing we can share about our experience with Curate Custom Homes is that they have a strong customer focus and if they say they are going to do something, they do it accurately and on time and make sure it is done to the buyer’s satisfaction."
