Devil's Den is a famous tourist attraction located on Sickles Avenue in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Gettysburg National Military Park and is the eighth stop on the battlefield tour. From Devil's Den, visitors have a commanding view of Little Round Top, where intense fighting took place during the Civil War battle on July 2, 1863.
Visitors can explore the boulders of Devil's Den and visit the various monuments and wayside exhibits along the paved paths leading to the top of Little Round Top. The two most impressive monuments on the hill are the 44th New York Infantry Monument and the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry Monument.
Little Round Top was a crucial position on the Union battle line during the Battle of Gettysburg. Major General Daniel Sickles' III Corps defended the area, despite his controversial decision to move his men forward to the Peach Orchard, leaving Little Round Top exposed. Brigadier General Gouverneur Warren played a key role in ensuring the defense of Little Round Top, and a statue of him stands on the spot where he first spotted the Confederate forces approaching.
Colonel Strong Vincent and his men from the 3rd Brigade of the V Corps' First Division arrived just in time to protect the left flank of Little Round Top. The defense included regiments such as the 16th Michigan Infantry, the 44th New York Infantry, the 83rd Pennsylvania Infantry, and the 20th Maine Infantry commanded by Colonel Joshua Chamberlain.
Devil's Den offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Battle of Gettysburg and explore the hilly terrain where intense fighting took place. It is a must-visit destination for history buffs and anyone interested in the Civil War era.

Reviews
"Devil’s Den was closed but got a good feel for the absolutely brutal fighting that occurred here. I didn’t pick up on any paranormal activity despite the construction though. Nearby are huge boulders than the creek runs underneath and there are so many places to hide and ambush people. Just remarkable to see and experience these battlefields."
"First visited this site on the Gettysburg Battlefield when I was in Boy Scouts. Years later, it still holds a sense of mystery and fascination because it's the most unique part of Battlefield, which is currently undergoing a major renovation."
"This place is sacred to Americans who understand military sacrifice. This was my 2nd visit, and I still enjoyed it greatly as there is more to see than meets the eye. Literally, since without knowing history, it is a mere walk in nature. This is why some sort of guided tour is recommended. To appreciate the place....to truly understand the history... a person must know what happened and where. The timeline helps one understand the sadness of the events that took place here. Please don't let's your children climb on the monuments. Get a tour of some type that suits your personality. I would prefer a self guided tour... like they had when I visited Alcatraz. I was disappointed because most of the Devils Den area was closed off for renovations. I'll visit again gladly."
"Devil's Den was amazing. I got very sensitive feelings around the Devil's Bath. Something is there that doesn't want people there. Didn't see the Demon Copperhead over 100 years old, thank goodness!!!"
"This was one of my favorite stops along the way. The history in this area is extremely tragic and sad. But the geology and the beauty of the place is breathtaking. Be sure to walk up and look between the huge boulders. And don’t forget that magnificent oak tree up the hill. The entire place was so beautiful. Near the parking area there is a trail you can take a walk through with a stream. Take your time to orient yourself. It is easy to imagine the extreme struggle that took place here with a huge loss of life. Hallowed grounds."
