"I think the doctor really cares about kids, but there's just some things missing. When our baby needed vaccines, the nurse was very cold and didn't even speak to our scared child. When the doctor kept telling us that our child was overweight ("in the 99th percentile") and we continually told him that she is incredibly active and eats a whole food diet and doesn't overindulge, at some point he needed to say something like "Well, we're in the warmer months and she's going to be even more active, so let's see where she stands in the Autumn." But he skipped that part. You can't skip that part. While I appreciate him being curious and wanting to solve our child being "in the 99th percentile" I think he missed the fact that some babies just take longer to lean out and that each child has their own genetic predisposition and that microbiome plays a huge role, etc. He's a good doctor, but I really feel like there needs to be a little more encouragement and positivity in situations like this. I'm confident that continuing eating a healthy diet that our baby will thin out in time and she really needs to have a pediatrician who sees that."
