"Last year, while celebrating New Year's Eve in Mexico City, I resolved to learn how to dance Cumbia. I initially tried an on-line course which was good, but it soon became clear that I would need in-person instruction. Consequently, I decided to take 10 personal lessons at Latin Street Music & Dancing Studio, which I had heard of over the years through its many guest appearances on local tv news broadcasts. To date, I've taken seven lessons with instructor, Andres, and I have gone from two-left-feet to an intermediate level of proficiency. Andres is a great instructor because not only does he have patience, but a friendly and clear manner of communicating. I have left each one-hour lesson feeling more competent and ready to put what I just learned into practice for the following week's lesson. "When I first got in touch with LSM&D, they were very flexible to take me in and allowed me to take a make up class to not lose money for entering ion week #2 of a 4 week session. That made me chose them as I really wanted to start dancing and didn’t want to wait for 3 more weeks for a new session to start.
