"Back in my day we sat in musty rooms with old ladies learning to play music on a dusty, out-of-tune piano. At the School of Rock? Drums, electric guitars, and keyboards cranked up with classic rock tunes. Students still learn the music essentials, but actually have fun doing it by playing real rock music. Individual lessons and group band performances strengthen musical skills and provide an overall knowledge of the history of rock. Perhaps more important, though, has been the personal attention my rocker has received from the staff at the School of Rock. They want to be sure he has fun, learns his songs, and gets to perform.
