Reviews
"Very pleasant, interesting visit. The docents were very informative. One of the docents had lived in Greenfield most of her life. Since it was such a small community, her relatives/ friends were familiar with Riley's relatives. She was able to relay lots of stories about the Rileys. The museum was filled with period pieces and some that belonged to James's family. The museum is the actual house where James grew up."
"A great home tour for a Riley poetry lover and history buff. One of the best historical home tours I have experienced. My tour guide, Phyllis, was a very nice lady who was very knowledgeable about our Hoosier poet. A number of times she recited some of his poetry which added to a very positive experience. Enjoyed the town of Greenfield as well. A day well spent."
"Tours were great and really cheap. People were great, and the artifacts are well preserved. They know what they are doing in regards of handling museums. Been there twice now. Definitely feel my experiences with the museum aren't over yet and want to go back soon."
"This was a great place to visit and learn about James Whitcomb Riley. So much history in one place! They are making improvements on the property and the tour experience will be even better soon. It was really interesting to see and stand in the very place that was the inspiration of some of the most well known poetry ever written. There is even an unpublished, handwritten manuscript hanging on the wall! Great place!"
"I love this place. I remember walking here from Harris Elementary and exploring for a field trip. I now have taken my children here and they have experienced the goblin eyes and the closet! It is such a wonderful experience to share my experience with my children. A placw that time has truly let be. Such history."
