"I would NEVER consider living under this form of "service and protection"...but I would visit long enough to FEED THOSE CATS! Shame on them for deciding that this would attract more cats...they are clearly not experts on the subject of TNR aka Trap and Release! They certainly were doing the city a favor, that's not cheap!! This should be reversed, and J Courtney should have to endure the same punishments these young ladies did! I would much rather be them than him when it's time for the life review!"

"Judge Courtney's actions have put his small town on the map. Jeff Courtney sentenced Beverly R., 85, and Mary A., 61, each to two years of unsupervised probation and 10 days in jail, albeit suspended. For feeding cats, which is not a crime. Good job Judge Jeff, the good citizens of Wetumpka can rest knowing its police, Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Judge are in lockstep in ignoring people's rights and common sense."

"What kind of a justice system do we have sentencing two women for helping animals! If the county doesn’t see stray animals as a problem it’s up to the people to take care of those animals, get them spayed and neutered and cared for. Shame on you judge. I’m not even a cat person."

"This is the judge who bullied 2 elderly ladies by convicting them for feeding and trapping feral cats for the purpose of getting them fixed. What kind of judge even wastes tax payer’s money on a trial for something like this? These women were doing a service. This man is an embarrassment."

"I wouldn’t trust this man with any family law case. I’d be terrified as to what he would be capable of when children are involved. I’m under the impression that good ole boy politics put this man on the bench. Too stupid to recognize when a public service is being done upon a city, for which the tax payers aren’t burdened. Fixing a problem, that the town itself is obviously acknowledging as a nuisance problem. OR MAYBE JUST AVOIDING THE LAWSUIT THAT SHOULD FOLLOW. This judge is doing a disservice to this community, along with the obvious other corrupt players in this sham. He should be embarrassed, as should his police department, the mayor, and the city council. The real nuisance in this town is this corrupt man. Absolutely absurd!!"
