"Your home is your castle that protects you from trespassers—unless the trespassers are termites! We moved to Mobile, bought an older house that had a termite inspection and termite bond, and started upgrading it right away. Replacement windows for those that were painted shut were supposed to give us more comfort and ease of cleaning; however, this activity found window frames that had been eaten by termites as well as live termites that were still there. We filed a claim which we thought would be covered by the bond, but the insurer refused to pay even for window frame replacement. After a couple of months of trying without success we contacted Henry, who came to see for himself and who immediately called in some experts in construction and structural engineering. They removed part of the floor to inspect support beams, part of the walls and siding to inspect studs and other wood members, and their documentation showed the extent of damage and the estimated cost of repair. Then Henry went to work on the insurers to get a settlement. This was not a really quick process, but Henry kept the pressure on the insurers until ultimately he arranged a meeting of all parties for mediation, which resulted in a very fair settlement. During the whole process, Henry kept us up-to-speed on progress and planned actions. He proved he was not only a successful lawyer but also a friend with Christian ideals that guided his actions. Not only was he highly successful in the termite litigation, but he saved us a few thousand $ by steering us to the tax department to get homestead exemption.
