"They make it incredibly frustrating to get any care. Getting a message to your primary provider without being transferred 4 times and put on hold for over 30 minutes is impossible. Then, when you need imaging done quickly due to health problems, they'll schedule it 4 months out. I really hope it's not cancer, as I will be in much worse shape in 4 months. I HATE THIS PLACE!"

"It has been a very satisfying experience for overall healthcare save for dental and the impact of Coronavirus restrictions. I received 4-5 Star quality care in the mental health department from my first visit until the Corona situation....and then the attrition rate hospital-wide reduced overall staff by about 1/2 ."

"If you're a younger vet, I feel for you if you have to go to this VA. They absolutely DO NOT take you seriously if you're younger than 50. Trying to be heard here is like talking to a brick wall. They just don't care. I mean I get it, the VA isn't the best hospital to work at. But if they're going to take care of veterans they need to remember that veterans come in many forms. Not just old, straight, white people. Every once in a while you'll get a really nice nurse but that's as far as it goes. Honestly if I already didn't have established care here I'd drive the 2 hours it takes to get to the Chicago VA but I can't even say if that place is any better. Anyway, if you have to go here, be prepared to deal with bigots who will just brush you off."

"Nice people who care about the veterans they serve. Plenty of parking. Its really not very hard getting around the place and if you get lost just ask someone for help. The people will go above and beyond for you if you need them too. It is an older place."
