"29 July 2022: Tonight was the monthly Friday fish fry. Hours posted for these fish fry’s are 5:00-7:00 pm with the understanding that at times they may run out. “Running out” was NOT the case this evening. I arrived at 6:40 pm there were approximately 15 people at two tables- who were done eating- and the table that you pay and get your tickets at was already taken down. I went to the window were you get your fish and there were three full pans of fish left. When I inquired about purchasing three “to -go” dinners the man that always collects money and hands out the tickets was in the kitchen and said that there were no more sales -it was literally 6:40 PM. I truly believe that the kitchen staff was more than willing to sell the three dinners but when the man that collects money and hands out tickets said he wasn’t selling anymore there was nothing that the kitchen staff could do. One kitchen staff member did say that the three pans of extra fried fish were for people who wanted seconds that were sitting at the tables. That would have been a lot more believable if the people were still eating everyone was literally done eating and we’re just sitting and visiting with each other. My father and I are members of this post -we come to every monthly fish fry, and I think it is bad business practice to say you are having for example a fish fry between the hours of 5 to 7 pm and this specific fish fry lasted from 5 to 6:30 pm - And in my opinion it probably shut down even before 6:30 pm. I have seen this happen a few months ago when I was there however, it was due to actually running out of perch- totally understandable. I hope this does not become the “norm”. If it does, the times for the fish fry’s need to be posted correctly. At minimum, but a sign on the outside door stating that the fish fry is closed. Very disappointed ☹️ (My 1-star rating was a direct reflection of this evening only)."
