"Upon entering the university I discussed my desired career with an advisor who placed me in a degree pathway that was NOT meant for my desired profession. I simply had faith in where I was placed and the coursework was close enough to not have raised suspicion. As a recent graduate, I now have a degree I cannot use and no leg to stand on as my correspondence was purely by phone. The university refuses to provide me details I have requested surrounding this error. Do your own research and be prepared to be met with incompetence rather than professionals. Maybe then your experience will be worthwhile."

"I have been associated with Lamar University for a considerable period, and it is with a heavy heart that I express my concerns regarding the overall competence of the workforce, including faculty and staff, within the institution. While there are undoubtedly dedicated individuals striving to uphold academic standards, the challenges posed by the university's location and administrative approach have led to a noticeable decline in the overall quality of personnel. One significant issue contributing to this decline is the rather unpleasant location of Lamar University, which presents challenges for employees and their families. The city's limited amenities, coupled with a lack of recreational options and a less-than-ideal environment for family life, have made it difficult for professionals to maintain a satisfactory work-life balance. This has inevitably taken a toll on the overall morale and job satisfaction of many employees, impacting their ability to perform at their best. Moreover, the administration's approach, characterized by a perceived lack of empathy and professionalism, has further exacerbated the problem. Rude interactions and a seemingly indifferent attitude towards the concerns of faculty and staff have created an atmosphere of frustration and disillusionment. Competent individuals who once contributed significantly to the university's success have chosen to leave for more accommodating locations, such as Houston and other cities offering better living conditions and career opportunities. As a result, the institution has experienced a noticeable brain drain, with some of its most capable members opting for environments that foster personal and professional growth. This exodus has left a void that, unfortunately, has been filled by individuals who may not possess the same level of competence and dedication. In conclusion, while Lamar University undoubtedly has its strengths, the challenges posed by its location and administrative dynamics have taken a toll on the overall quality of its workforce. It is my sincere hope that the university's leadership takes proactive measures to address these concerns, fostering an environment that attracts and retains competent professionals, thereby ensuring the institution's long-term success."

"Good school, good professors, and good dorms, but don't waste your time even trying to call Cashier's office. They dont answer. Everyday on hold for 4+ hours is ridiculous."

"We had a good time here tonight as spectators of the Lamar University vs. Central Arkansas University football game. Tough loss for Lamar tonight but Coach Blaine Morgan obviously has the Cardinals headed in the right direction!"

"Daughter is a Freshman there this year. I’m completely impressed with the campus And the dorms are amazing never seen ones so nice. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. The leader for this department is best I’ve ever encountered personally with care for the students and the protection they deserve and providing tools for them to overcome any challenges they will face."
