North Castle Historical Society

The North Castle Historical Society, located at 440 Bedford Road in Armonk, New York, is housed in the historic Smith's Tavern. Chartered by The Regents of The University of The State of New York, this not-for-profit museum is dedicated to preserving historic sites, educating the community, and honoring local traditions. As a 100% volunteer-run organization without government funding, support and interest from the public are crucial in keeping our history alive. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the Smith's Tavern Educational Complex on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2-4, with an app available for download. The Society's efforts have helped preserve Mount Misery, a significant site during the Battle of White Plains in 1776.
