Growing Kids Childcare Center

"The building is beautiful and the staff was all kind and caring. We loved how well our younger child did. However, our four year child with attention issues did struggle. This center does not offer a play alternative to nap times, and she couldn't keep quiet in the room during nap time. She hasn't napped since she was two, and it became a major source of stress for her. She'd often come home with immense self esteem issues that it seemed she was getting from having meltdowns and being in trouble during the structured quiet time. We did get her diagnosed ADHD and spoke to the school about accommodations. But the afternoons would fall apart. They would call me nearly every day to come pick her up instead of being able to help figure something out or letting her play in a different place during quiet nap time (staffing issues, I was told) And eventually she started escalating and trying to get in trouble and get set home. We moved her to a daycare where she isn't forced to nap or be silent for two hours each afternoon and she's thriving. She's become more relaxed, and more confident. She's in play therapy now to work on managing her ADHD and repairing the self esteem hit this took on her. I'm saddened because we loved this place and many of the teachers but it's incredibly rigid in terms of not making accommodations for kids that can't fit the mold."
