"Think twice before you send your child to Camp Liberty! The description of the XMC Camp is described as a "physically demanding atmosphere", but no where does it tell the parent that there will be verbal abuse and extreme profanity shouted in their teenager's face. For example, "F you" was shouted continuously at our daughter, often TWO Drill Instructors at one time. As a result, the other teenage kids think this is totally acceptable and will say it to your son or daughter behind closed doors ...... it is definitely "Bullying". There is no reprimand for that type of language. In our High School, profane language is not allowed and it is certainly not used for teaching teenage kids. This is totally unacceptable for a program that is supposed to be teaching teenage youth how to become future leaders. Also, Colonel Land runs the camp like a dictator with ALL communications in and out of camp going through him. He is also VERY disrespectful to parents. He "dismissed" our daughter 3 weeks early and would not give us written documentation as to why she was dismissed, even after several requests via email messages and phone calls. I feel like he stole $3,000 from us."

"Joseph M. Land, Sr is a fat disrespectful entitled fraud. Cadre are Good to go however the fat rich Joseph Land is not a Colonel. He is a entitled navy enlisted drop out for being too fat or "Overfat". You guys also took it upon your selves to drop my Son from Cadet Ranger to field leaders course when he was cleared medically for Cadet Ranger school and you did so without notification to the parents. Mega whatever. CAUTION your children will be in the hands of a fraud."

"My son had a great experience here. It was not easy, and that was the point. This is a real deal, life changing experience. Know that this is not a camp for "problem kids". It's a camp for kids who want to experience a taste of what boot camp may be like. That includes sleep deprivation, hard physical activity and complete accountability. My son is going back for the Scuba sessions this summer. PS - My older child is a Cow at West Point, so I have some experience for comparison, and this would be a great prep/gut check if your child is thinking about applying to a service academy."

"This is an awesome program for kids that are interested in a legitimate military experience. The expectations are high, the program is challenging, but if your kids are willing to put in the work, the benefits are truly wonderful. Confidence, teamwork, learning how to work under pressure... there are too many positives to put on paper. Our son went through the program, and it motivated him to bring his grades up so he could go the following year. Had we found this program earlier, he would have gone more often. To say we Highly Recommend this program is just not enough !!!!"

"Since my son was 3 years old all he talked about was being an Army Soldier. As a mother I did everything I could to facilitate that dream. My son attended numerous leadership programs & camps including High School JROTC. Not one of those programs were as authentic, realistic or professional as XMC. My perspective is two fold. I am the mother of a former Cadet and an employee of XMC camp. The Cadre on staff are totally professional and extremely attentive to the recruits, challengers and cadets needs. I would trust them with my sons life. The Cadets and parents are given handbooks to read in regards to all aspects of the camps rules regulations and guidelines. If you and your child follow those instructions neither of you should have a problem navigating the expectations from the XMC camp perspective. Those rules are set with the purpose of the camp running smoothly and effectively. I find that most problems arise when parents or recruits don’t thoroughly read or follow the handbook guidelines. If parents are looking for a delinquency program this is not it. If a recruit has behavioral issues parents should not expect a rebellious child to change in the short period of time when they are attending a high stress, highly motivated, extreme Military camp setting. It is up to parents to make the final realistic assessment of what their child can and cannot handle. When Cadre need to take time out to discipline those type of recruits it takes away training from those recruits that are motivated to excel. My best advice is to make sure you and your child go into this program knowing that it is an Extreme Military Challenge. There is nothing the owner of XMC camp wouldn’t do for any recruit, their parent or the staff/cadre that are employed by him. He is fair and sometimes brutally honest. He is extremely passionate about his program and expects excellence from everyone involved in molding your child to become the best he can be. Parents need to decide if you trust in the process, if not this camp isn’t for you or your child. I have been with XMC camp since it’s inception when it all started. Those 9 years have flown by. My son told me that the training he received at XMC camp over prepared him for his military training and that it was more intense than he experienced in boot camp and beyond. I am proud to say I am indebted to the XMC Cadre and Staff for they have made my son the soldier and man he is today. If your challenger finishes the program and chooses to enlist in the Military the best thing he has besides being over prepared is that he has professional mentors for life. I have always said “Once you are XMC family you are family for life!”"
