"This hotel was a Best Western when in April of 2023 I called and booked a block for my wedding in March of 2024. I received a confirmation number, a link for people to book, and was told the rooms would be held until February of 2024. I gave the link to family early and I know at least one person who did book a room through the link shortly after. I sent invites out this month (Dec of 2023) and when someone called to book a room, Baymont told them there was no wedding block for that weekend. I called and was told they changed from the Best Western to Baymont and they were looking for my block to figure out what happened. They also couldn't find the reservation for the person who DID book a room through the link. I was told the boss was out for the day but they would call me back as soon as they knew more. The next day, I received an email stating that because no rooms were picked up since April of 2023 they went ahead and cancelled my block, even through I was told I had until February of 2024 and at least one person did book a room. I was NOT notified of this cancellation. Because of a basketball tournament that weekend they cannot rebook my block. Other hotels in Danville are also unable to set up a block because of the same tournament. I was able to get a block in Champaign, but that means a 45 minute drive for my guests. I booked the block in April in case there was an event like this where a lot of rooms could be taken up. I have a ton of family coming in from out of town, so I was doing the right thing to prepare for that. This situation was handled horribly with no compassion or remorse for what happened. I will never use this hotel and will encourage others to avoid it as well."
