"I've been going to this spot ever since they opened it in addition to their spot further down court towards 57. I'm so tired of how I'm talked to in drive thru and when I walk in. Always an attitude now like they're sick of it. Last three times my wife and I chose to dine inside we weren't even greeted, just some young kid that walked to the register, stared at us all pissed off, then took our order and the only words he said was our total at the end. I completely understand being busy and having an attitude, but it's every single time now. Other than that, food is phenomenal as always."

"My wife and I shared the Gyro platter and it was enough food for both of us. Great food and fast service. We were there around 7PM so not very busy at all. Easy access from the road. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tasty Gyro and fries!"

"This place is amazing. I went here and ordered an Italian beef with fries and a medium drink. They have craft sodas here that taste better than almost any mainstream soda, and their Italian beef is gigantic! It all tasted great. The atmosphere is just a little bleak though."

"This place offers a nice much needed break from the big chain fast food spots. The fact that they’re always busy is a testament that they’re doing things right. The menu is huge. Everything you need after a night out, or an afternoon of watching the Bears lose is on that magical menu board. The hamburger actually fits the oversized bun and it tastes like a hamburger that you might remember from a different time. Replete with vegetables that have names you can actually recognize such as fresh tomatoes and onions, and a hunk of plain old American lettuce, the hamburger is honoured here as a staple of American fast food. Salads, warm up foods like poppers and fries are all about what you’d expect on the South Side of Chicago when it was actually the Great South Side. Service is fast because there’s always someone behind you in the drive-thru. A hamburger with a Greek salad is a full meal and well worth the price. I get a side of extra dressing, but that’s just me. The gyros sandwich is two meals for me. It’s a typical gyro with actual taziki sauce (sp) like you’ve had a a hundred other gyro joints except this one has too much meat (a plus) and nice warm fresh pita bread. I imagine that you could go wrong at Poor Boy’s, but I never have. If you’re looking for quick, non-franchise joint food, eat in or drive-thru, stop in at either location."
