"First, I am a nurse. We've recently moved from Houston TX so small town hospital is kind of scary to begin with for me. I'm a complex medical patient. I've gone to the er 2 x's and it was OK for both. 1 for severe Abdominal pain n the other severe muscle spasms. This er visit resulted in a 7 days stay for chronic Bronchitis. The 1st 2 days -care was consistent and good. After that? 12 hr nursing shift resulted in 2-3 nurses. Meds were way off schedule. Getting ice took several hours. The room walls are filthy and cabinet and walls crumbling. Aides n nurses didn't even attempt to hit the trash can! Gloves or sanitizer were NOT used consistently. For a hospital doing new nurse rotations, I can honestly say there was only 1 nurse who should be allowed to have a shadow! She is a 2 1/2 yr nurse who listens to breath n bowel signs, checks pupils n LOCx3! She gloved and sanized on way out, used alcohol prep on iv n capped it. I thought I'd remember her name -but I know everyone will remember her! Marissa was also a good nurse. Kate was a great tech - n the only one to change my bed in the week. I don't understand how JHACO accredited this hospital? I had 2 "falls" in bathroom. 1 I know they were aware of as I pulled the call bell. The other was tipping from toilet to tub n told them but... this is how they looked after discharge. I couldn't eat any of the food they brought either. This is noodles - uncooked with spaghetti sauce? No sauce just mealtime stuff. N it was 1 of the better meals!"

"Went in with my wife who has had troubles with a recent pregnancy. Her stomach was hurting her bad, so we went in. Didn’t want to have to drive all the way to Birmingham because she was very uncomfortable. So the night shift was awesome, caring and general concerned about her well being. So they had some ideas they said they were goin to look into. Then the shift changes, and in walks the dark haired middle aged doctor named Timothy Jordan. And he confirms my wife is indeed hurting in her stomach. Writes it up as left side pain and sends her on her way. To later look into and find out there is a ton of abnormal stuff in her labs that should have been discussed possible looked into at the very least. But nope he says yes she is hurting, you are good to go. Just because we live in a rural part of town shouldn’t mean we get worse than 3rd world country health care. This isn’t the first time this has happen with the same doc. This guy has no business treating anyone. So if you need to go the emergency room in Jasper may want to call ahead and see if dr Timothy Jordan is taking up air here cause that’s basically what he is doin. Brookwood Baptist plz for the love of god get this under control. If you take a poll around town right now I guarantee 70-85% would tell you they wouldn’t take a sick rat into that emergency room. The other 25-15% probably have never been there but give it time they will also learn."

"Took my husband to the ER for stomach pains. The staff took great care of him. Doctor Huynh was very nice and kind. Nurse Terbie was funny, caring and lifted our spirits immensely. We were in and out within 3hrs. Yay Walker Baptist!"

"They acted like my son wasn't my own after giving birth and I felt judged at every turn. I was treated with extreme disrespect, and it was a a horrible experience for what is supposed to be one of the best experiences of my life. (Besides obviously the part where gave birth to my favorite human alive) I was very respectful and after asking to speak to the director people got especially nasty. I absolutely do not recommend having your child here. The director was so nervous as I left because she knew they messed up. When I met with her I spoke with complete elegance even under a great amount of pain when her staff couldn't be bothered to even treat me decent."
