Marco and Polo Restaurant

"We came, we ate and we fell in love with the cuisine and warmth of Marco Polo. Arzu and Gairatjan, the proprietors are incredibly welcoming and kind, and patiently explained all the aspects of the menu and unique aspects of their cuisine. The mezze plate was exceptional, and the homemade stuffed grape leaves (fresh) will make you rethink all the ones you’ve ever eaten from a can. Our group was four, and we tried Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Polo with rice and get the side of cold noodle salad, Gyro platter and the a braised rib that was so tender no knife was needed. Arzu explained that it is also called a kebab. Make sure to order Arzu’s proprietary blend of tea with chamomile and jujubes and the honey walnut cake!"

"A place I’ve wanted to try for a while, and well worth it!! As many diverse cuisines as Bloomington already has, this cosy restaurant still managed to offer something unique. There were so many wonderful flavors, and the staff were so so so incredibly nice! The eggplant salad, falafels, and lamb soup were great quality for the price and good portion sizes too. Most of all, the staff were more hospital than anyone could ask for, and we even got complimentary noodles and tea! I wish I could describe in more detail how satisfying this meal was, but I hope I’ve convinced you to go here! I know I’ll be back for sure :) EDIT: I went back! This time we got the Iskender Kebab and the chuchura, and it was amazing! I didn’t realize how many incredible options this place has but these dishes and the big plate chicken have been my favorite so far~"

"My mom and I really enjoyed our lunch here. The food was great, the conversation with the owner was great, and the environment is very intimate. We will definitely be going back! This is the only picture I have because we started eating and then realized how good it was!"

"This is a fantastic restaurant! The service was quick and they were very friendly. They even brought us a small side dish to try. The food was very tasty. We got the mezze platter and all the dips were phenomenal. We also shared combo 1 and the rice and kebabs were really tasty. We’ll definitely be back!"

"I am so happy we had a new restaurant in town. This Uygur restaurant is authentic and clean. The food is delicious and healthy. We ordered Chuchura Uyghur Soup with Meat - Filled Dumpling , Mixed Meze Platter , Lamb Polo , Uyghur -Laghman (Uyghur nodel). The owners are kind and generous. The only problem is parking, but I was able to park my car in front of the restaurant."
