"Amazing birds. I went in the afternoon and evening and didn't see anything. I went back early the next morning. Nothing again. Talked to a staff as he got to work. He pointed out their call so they were nearby. Waited about half an hour and 5 of them walked out of the grassy savanna behind the visitors center. It was definitely worth the wait."
"Lots of butterflies & tons of different kinds of plants. The short trail by the visitor’s center is only 3/4 mile long, so perfect for a quick afternoon walk through the woods. We almost didn’t see any cranes, but looked to our left as we were driving back out to the road, and there they were! A group of 5 of them hanging out under the trees. Pretty cool!"
"We were there about 10 am. And saw several feeding. This is hit or miss. Well we hit the jackpot unlike the casino in Biloxi These birds are gorgeous and it is like looking back in time due to the pristine wilderness. check it out!! 5555"
"Had such an amazing time at this place. We learned several things at the visitor's center and the short film is well worth seeing. There is a short trail next to the center that takes you through the wet pine savanna and bayou where you can see pitcher plants and other carnivorous plants, depending on the time of year. If you're traveling on I-10 I highly recommend stopping for a quick trip here."
"If you’re looking for an authentic nature experience, Come Visit this Gem! The Visitor Center is well done and the staff are very kind and helpful. We learned so much about these birds and throughly enjoyed visiting their natural habitat. Our conservation mindsets increased and our kids (7/9) enjoyed it too! We need more places like this one."
