Windjammer Grill - Lake Monroe

"Good grief this place is frustrating! The food is always just "OK". Largest lake in Indiana and there's one restaurant on it, so it is what it is. The last 2 times we've tried to dine here they've been shut-down, contrary to their posted hours online. Today we even vmcalled 30 minutes ahead to confirm that they'd be open today. Boat across the lake, hoof it up the mile long hill with 2 kids-CLOSED! The handwritten note on the door said "unexpected equipment failure". Does that stuff happen? Probably, but they need to get their a t together or get a new tenant that can wither maintain the equipment properly or work-around such issues. Would be even more frustrating if you were trying to stay in the subpar hotel and the one restaurant on property was out of order..."

"I honestly don't understand the bad reviews. This is my favorite local restaurant. There is literally nothing else like this anywhere around. Beautiful lakeside outdoor seating, great food, decent draft selection, staff are kind and courteous, live bands on the weekend, outdoor games. Awesome vibe. This place is friggin great. I only wish that they were more active on their Facebook page so that we know events ahead of time, and I also wish they were open later on the weekends. Definitely recommend."

"Mixed experience here my hamburger was good my wife's chicken tenders were Overcooked. We were not told when ordering that the storm had knocked out their ability to make half the menu. I know the storm is partially to blame for this but a heads up would have been nice."

"There's a lot of good things about this place, the food tasted great, had a good view of the lake, and our waitress was very nice. But the wait time was long, wobbly table, and the food was overpriced. We paid 8 dollars for 4 tiny slivers of tuna to go with our salad (ate two before taking picture), it was kind of a joke. The Flatbread and fish tacos were great, just not worth the $80 for two people."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! It is under new management and staff and it shows! Food quality was excellent and priced like all other quality lake side restaurants. The coconut shrimp, fries and cole slaw were very good. The servers were very attentive and the head chef came by to make sure we were completely satisfied. The view of the lake from the restaurant was beautiful and the landscaping was amazing. The restaurant is very clean and well decorated with that "beachy" vibe. I don't often give 5 stars but this one earned it. We will definitely be back!"
