Shogun Hibachi Sushi &Seafood

"My husband and I tried Shogun twice. The service was good. We kept smelling what I can only describe as sewage.. it really killed our appetite and the overall experience. My husband ordered Tonkotsu Ramen with pork. They had no pork. They brought my husband out chicken ramen in what seemed to be a shoyu broth. There was no fish cake, no green onion.. the worst part was the noodles. They were literally instant ramen noodles. Actually, I've bought better quality instant ramen noodles depending on the brand, this was like the cheap 0.99 cent ramen packs you buy at Walmart. I ordered an eel cucumber roll, the cucumber tasted like it had gone bad and was off. Ordered steamed gyoza and it was overcooked and hard, like if you bought cheap premade gyoza and then somehow managed to cook it wrong. The only thing we enjoyed was the presentation (they had nice dishware). This was extremely disappointing and I felt like it certainly wasn't worth the $60 we paid. We won't be back."

"Short version: save your money and go to Tokyo across town. Long version: Took my wife and two kids here. We almost always go to Tokyo on 280. This was our first time at Shogun. We ordered pretty standard stuff. Sesame chicken, hibachi chicken and steak, and a couple of sushi rolls (Osaka and Crunchy shrimp). It was all terrible. The sesame chicken was for the kids. They hated it. It tasted like they’d put toothpaste in it. The sushi was bland. The steak and chicken were slimy and tasteless. Whatever they’re calling yum-yum sauce tasted like watered down mustard. There are zero options for kids. The worst part is that the total cost was over $70… for two meals and some sushi. The waitress did her job, and that was about it. Ordering the same stuff at Tokyo costs about 20% less and tastes infinitely better. If you work at this place, go ahead and start looking for another job. I’d be shocked if this place is still open next year."

"I'll start out by saying the food was amazing! Presentations were fabulous, food was fresh, well prepared and seasoned perfectly. The Gyoza (steamed pork dumplings) were tender and flavorful, spring rolls were crispy outside and not greasy, and the sushi was phenomenal. Highly recommend the Black Dragon Roll and the Fire Holiday Roll. The General Tso Chicken was spot on and stayed crispy in the sauce. Due to it being the Grand Opening weekend we expected the service to be a little slow and have taken that into account in this review. We were greeted promptly upon entering and had very little wait to be seated even though they were very busy. The reason I marked down for service was that our server walked past our table at least a dozen times without even acknowledging us (not even glancing at us) and someone else had to come take our drink order after no less than 15 minutes - to where the other employee pointed out to her we had been waiting a long time. Our appetizer came out with the meal, and we had to flag our server down for a missing item. A server from another section was the one to check if we needed any refills and brought us our check, even though our section was nearly empty at this point, because our server was no where to be seen. Prices were very reasonable, especially given the portion sizes. Other than the issues with the one server the rest of the staff was great! They were all friendly and personable. We will definitely be back. Party of 3."
